The Sim

In late 2387 the USS Orion was on an exploratory mission out past the Typhon Expanse and beyond Federation borders. After a week of charting the surrounding space they discovered a strange signal coming from a nearby star system. They moved to investigate and discovered several planets ranging from C Class to P Class. Of the 12 planets in this system 6 planets and 5 moons showed evidence of this advanced signal. The Orion traced the primary signal to an O Class planet within the system.

Upon investigation the crew found an under water city that had apparently been inhabited by a long gone amphibious life form. Dating of the recovered artifacts suggested that this civilization had been active at about the same time as the Iconians. Their level of technology was just past the Federations. The city was in ruins, however data recovered from the initial survey named the planet Dukira, which translated to God Hunter. The Orion reported back to Starfleet command after finding different ruins with the same technology on the other 5 planets and the moons. Starfleet ordered the Orion to set up a colony and await science teams that would investigate.

Once the colony had been established and named in the ship's honor, a new crew with a new ship were sent to take permanent command of the facilities.
